Apple has expanded its self-repair program to include iPads, following iPhones and Macs, starting May 29, 2025. Now, iPad users can repair their own devices.
The program provides users with repair manuals, genuine parts, troubleshooting diagnostic sessions, and the necessary tools or rental equipment. The parts provided are said to be the same as those used by official service providers.
The self-repair program currently supports iPad Air (M2 and later models), iPad Pro (M4 models), iPad mini (A17 Pro models), and iPad (A16 models), and you can repair the display, battery, camera, external charging port, etc. yourself.
Apple explained that this expansion is part of its efforts to provide repair services to more customers while extending the life of the device and maintaining safety and security.
The program, which was introduced starting with iPhones in 2022, has also been applied to Mac products such as MacBooks, and with the addition of iPads, the total number of products eligible for self-repair has increased to 65. It is currently available in 33 countries, with Canada to be added soon.
